Industry experts expect Craigslist to start charging for apartment rental listings. Craigslist is generally known as a free classified ad site, but they have charged for job listings for many years. More recently they introduced a fee of $10 per listing for brokered apartments in New York City.
With thousands or rentals listings posted every day in major cities, browsing through them becomes a challenge. Landlords and property managers have found tenants using Craigslist for years and may be willing to pay for the service that is now free.
