Craigslist May Start Charging for Apartment Listings

Industry experts expect Craigslist to start charging for apartment rental listings. Craigslist is generally known as a free classified ad site, but they have charged for job listings for many years. More recently they introduced a fee of $10 per listing for brokered apartments in New York City.

With thousands or rentals listings posted every day in major cities, browsing through them becomes a challenge. Landlords and property managers have found tenants using Craigslist for years and may be willing to pay for the service that is now free. But the good news is other websites like HotIgloos.com will continue to let people advertise and find apartments for rent for free.
